How potential becomes matter
The Qualified World is not produced in a single leap. It deepens through a sequence: coherence, qualification, actualization, record, causality, spacetime and material stability.

Coherence is not a hidden cause
Calling coherence prior to causality does not place a mysterious event before the Big Bang. “Prior” is logical, not chronological. A cause can be earlier than an effect only after temporal order, identity and relation are already available. Coherence names those conditions of possible articulation.
A contradiction can be written, but it cannot be jointly actualized as one undivided state. Potential therefore has shape. Qualification is the application of a perspective and context to that shaped openness. It does not invent a world arbitrarily; it resolves a world from compatible possibility.
The Qualified World
The Qualified World is the realized and knowable field. It includes the body, other people, instruments, galaxies, mathematics, pain, institutions and all apparent externality. Calling it “qualified” does not make it private or weak. Qualification is precisely what gives it definite structure.
The shared, coherent and resistant rendering in which potential has become determinate enough to support records, laws and lives.
From events to things
Objects are slow stories. A stone appears object-like because its relevant relations remain stable across enormous numbers of actualizations. A body is a more complex persistence: metabolism, memory, regulation and environmental exchange continuously reproduce a recognizable organization.
This is why the framework says the world is processes rather than things. “Thing” is the useful compression of sufficiently stable process. Matter is not discarded. It is explained as the local crystallization of repeated, record-bearing coherence.
Quantum actualization
Quantum theory supplies a suggestive physical analogue without being treated as a magical proof. Before measurement, the theory assigns structured possible outcomes. A registered event enters the causal history available to later observers. Radioactive decay, for example, can initiate a macroscopic chain—detector, signal, machine, mark, memory.
The ontological claim is broader than any interpretation of quantum mechanics: an event becomes part of a world when it becomes determinate and recordable within that world. Wheeler’s participatory language is a resonance here, especially his focus on registered phenomena, but Unreality adds the metaphysical account of perspective, coherence and accumulated history.
Global coherence and local realism
Every local perspective encounters only part of the world, yet those partial encounters interlock. Global coherence is the constraint that prevents local renderings from becoming arbitrary private universes. What you see from one side of a mountain must fit what another person sees from the other side, the instruments placed on it, its geological history and the paths by which anyone can travel around it.
Realism succeeds because qualification is lawful and shared. Unrealism begins only when that success is mistaken for a view from outside every possible frame.
